Thumbs down GT4 Problem

Had GT4 for less than 24 hrs. and already things are startin to go haywire. This could possibly be my PS2 as it has had several problems lately, ex: not reading discs, freezing.

The problem is after a race, instead of a white spinning dial turning, I get a red spinning dial, the only thing I could think of is that this is the games way of telling me there is an error.

I have also noticed that, I took the game out, and there is whats looks to be a ring smudge going around the middle of the disc. Last night I used a can of air to get rid of the dust so that it would read discs again, it seemed to be working perfectly. Until now that is.

1. If you let your system run too long, this will cause it to happen. Let the system cool down for awhile and then play it again.
2. Try cleaning the laser with alcohol and a cotton swab. This worked for me.

Here the GT4 forum that can provide you with more help.

There's instruction on that site that tell you how to go about cleaning your laser

i run the 24 hours races with no problem, i have heard of ps2 overheating problem, but as long as you keep it on a table (not on the carpet) in a decently ventilated area it shouldnt have any problems.
