Default Guess what car this is from the sound.

Sound 1

Sound 2

Sound 3

Sound 4

What does that sound like to you?

Later on I'll post a link to the website I got those from.

I'm trying to make a point about car sound that usually gets me some disgusted looks. Perhaps I don't have a good enough ear to differentiate things, but those sound clips totally support my theory.

Sound clip 3 had what I consider some VTEC noise in it. My guess would be an ITR since the VTEC didn't sound like it was hitting 9K RPM.

Hmm, Z8... Haven't heard one of those. I'd like to, though.

I got those audio clips from the Ferrari 360 Spider page.

I tell people I have a car that (as far as I can tell, not having been in one) sounds exactly like a Ferrari 360. Then they just look at me like I'm crazy. After doing that twice I stopped, but that still bugs me that nobody believes me. I'm not crazy! I'm NOT!

From what I've read, the 360's V8 has a flat crank, so it has a firing order very similar to an inline four - combine that with the 9000rpms, and you got a very similar sound to the S2000.

*shrug*

Wow the 360 really does sound different than its predecessors doesn't it. I liked the sound of the 348/355 MUCH more, but I agree that the 360 sounds very similar to the S2K if not a little bit deeper than the S2K.

At high revs, the car sounds almost identical. That's pretty cool.

I also thought that was an S2k with some type of an aftermarket exhaust.

Don't Ferarris have some type of valve timing system where the camshaft has 2 lobes for each valve and actually moves sideways to a larger lobe?
