Yup. My father-in-law has a Daewoo 9mm pistol. It is a POS. Would not trust my life to it.

I don't think that is so unusual for many of these huge conglomerates in Korea and Japan. Hyundai is also into electronics and computers, along with many of the other car companies. Mitsubishi used to make tanks and airplanes during WW-II, Rolls Royce makes airplane engines, SAAB also builts fighter planes, etc.. The list goes on and on.
