On my way into work this morning on the 57 Northbound near the 10 I saw a very unusual sight: a semi with a huge trailer: white with green and gold, a football helmet on the side, the name Bears on the side, and Baylor across the back.

I presume that it was on its way from Texas to Berkeley for the Baylor-Cal game on Saturday. I would have thought that there was a more direct route, but perhaps not.

Any Bears fans here?

When I first saw the truck it was South of the 10. It may have come over on the 60 or the 91, or maybe it came over on the 10, went South for breakfast or gas or whatever, then turned around. Odd, in any case.

No Baylor fans here?

 

My wife has a degree from Baylor.....I married her anyway.

 

With how bad their football team is, the Baylor fans probably aren't going to get too excited about your sighting. I guess every conference needs their guaranteed win.

 

Uhmm... Baylor got it's ass handed to them. Didn;t think Cal was good enough to score that many points on them.

I figured Baylor would lose, but I never thought they would be that bad. In case you misunderstood me, my statement about the guaranteed win was about Baylor being the Big 12 conference's guaranteed win in conference play. My alma mater, Oklahoma State, is in the Big 12 so we play them every season and also beat them every season. I bet that was a long trip home for those guys after getting pounded that bad to open the season.

 

It must take quite a lot of fuel to get that huge truck from Texas to California. Imagine the money they could have saved by simply staying home. And the embarrassment. In a forfeit you only lose 1-0.

Well, in the Pac-10, Cal has been the doormat recently, so I wasn't too sure if you were referring to Baylor or Cal. What happened to Baylor. I remember SC played them about 10 years ago and they were a pretty tough team.

has anybody seen the truck with the trailer that has it's 3 sides showing the illustrations on how to avoid the truck's blind spots if you're next to it.....?
