Guess what I'm doing tonight?

video editing is one of the most fun and satisfying things I've done on a computer...

it's also one of the most time-consuming hobbies I've ever dabbled in! I cannot tell you how many hours I've spent trying to make the perfect 60, 30, even 15 second sequence.

having a fast processor (or two) and loads and loads of RAM are a must, or you end up spending hours over the life of the project just waiting for your complicated renderings to complete.

damn, talking about it makes me want to fire up the Canon XL1 and go film stuff.
