Wasn't sure where to post this--thought about the online games section, but anyways...

I just bought a PS3 and downloaded the latest system updates. So far haven't had any issues with any of my PSone or PS2 games playing.

The only games I haven't tried are my guitar hero games since I have yet to purchase a PS2 controller adapter. I read online that there are issues with people playing GH games on the PS3 using the wired guitars via the controller adapter.

I would rather avoid buying the new wireless controller when GH3 comes out, particularly since I read of the massive wireless 'dongle' that you have to plug into the PS3.

 

The problem, as I recall, is that the PS3 needs you to push the Playstation button to start the game loading (or something to that effect), but the PS2 Guitar Hero controller does not have one to push, therefore, you cant get anywhere.

 

the Pelican USB-Playstation Controller adapter states it explicitly works with Guitar Hero controllers. It has a special mode button for Guitar Hero.

 

Well I read the user reviews on gamestop.com for the pelican adapter, and they say it works like crap. Apparently it works for GH1, but sucks for GH2.
