Gulf relief efforts + shirt
http://www.threadless.com/product/2346/peliCAN
Threadless is running this limited edition shirt for $10, and proceeds are going to Gulf Restoration Network. Just thought I'd plug it, I have a ton of friends who live in the Florida panhandle and are literally walking out on beaches covered in tar balls and watching friends lose their livelihood. Every little bit helps. This organization does primarily environmental work and I checked out their site... looks pretty good to me.
Plus it's a cool $10 shirt.
Here is their site, http://healthygulf.org
disclaimer: i have no affiliation with threadless or the organization gulf restoration network, just sharing.

edit to clarify + it's 5$ shipping. Still. Get you one.

i ain't giving a single penny. BP's mess. BP's burden to clean up.
if it was a natural disaster it'll be a different story.
but this is 10000000% Brittish Petroleum's fault. i already made them rich paying $4.00+ a gallon for gas last year. they can afford to fix this mess.

Buying this tshirt isn't going to mean BP pays less money. It also doesn't mean they'll do less work. I think you can be confident you're not letting BP off the hook by putting $10 into an environmental organization.
Anyway you're free to your opinion.
I live on the Gulf Coast and this is like a hurricane that never ends. I grew up in a fishing / shrimping / oystering community. All of those people are now out of business. Hell, I even knew the boat captain that killed himself and made national news. Almost every business in the area is suffering. The malls are down, resturants are down 60 to 80% and places are closing up. It will probably take years for us to recover from this. I own waterfront property that I bought to resell. What's the value of that now? I don't think I'll see a penny from BP. Still, I'm not about to boycott them completely. I don't want them to go out of business or abandon the area before this crap is cleaned up.
I do however fell that I've been BPeed on...
