I'd guess that the premise is how people react to a statement based upon their relation to that statement (the statement being posted here, and on a Mustang/Vette/Camaro board, comparing the results). Some S2000 owners/enthusiasts took offense to his statements, some less anti-American folks took offense as well, some (including me ) posted to refute specific parts of the statement, and some just took to name-calling and general pissing-contest type posts (see the C5 vs S2000 stuff).

An alternative premise would be how people would react to the same general statement that was posed in different manners (one being civil and polite but pointing out something that ires the person, the other being hostile and temperamental).
