With one post and no photo of the damage, yeah its a joke. 
On a serious note, I guy I know welded the diff on his 911 race car many years ago. No, not the ring to the pinion
but the actual internals of the differential itself. Making it a ZERO-slip diff. I guess it helped him put the power down, but dang did it make pushing the car around the paddock a PITA.
