Angry Hangover Advice

Last night I drank. A lot. I don't drink a lot, and now I don't think I ever will again.

All day today I've had a hang over. All day. I'm still feelin it and it's already midnight. I've thrown up a total of 9 times. Twice last night after we left the bar, and seven times today. I feel like I'm going to throw up more, too. I tried to eat something, that didn't help. I ended up throwing it all up. I didn't take anything before I drank (any "hangover helper" type meds), and I haven't taken anything today. Is there something I can take? I stayed in bed most of the day, drinking water... and throwing it back up later. Anyone have any tips?

Sounds like a mild alcohol poisoning. It'll go away soon, just keep drinking water. Not worth getting totally trashed is it? Ya just gotta stick it out, but make sure you drink water. Eat saltine crackers if you can't hold real food down. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. I'm thinking it was some sort of alcohol poisoning as well. And you're right, it's not worth it. Sure a few hours of laughs is great, but a next day of feeling like this isn't. I'll do what you advise, it worked with the flu back in the day... anyway, thanks again and have a good night.

Did you mix hard liquor with beer? I usually throw up whenever I drink both, one after another. But if I drink hard liquor without drinking beer I'm fine. I don't know if this happens to everyone or just me. Ohh and I usually drink a Tylenol before I go to sleep and after I wake up, it makes me feel better.

Always worked for me in college.

Here's what I've heard from a medical expert: only time will heal a hangover.

But now, there's is something you can take before you drink, and it SHOULD eliminate a hangover, or at least reduce it. It's on TV all the time.

Well my advice might be too late but the next time you decide to go out drinking take two aspirins before going out, you'll have no hangovers the next day. This has worked for my friends and me time and time again.

The reason you get a headache after a night of drinking is because alcohol dehydrates you. What it actaully does is shrink your brain (I believe it's shrink, but maybe expand) so that it actaully tugs on your skull. The best way to cure this is as already mentioned drink fluids, LOTS of fluids.

The reason you are very tired after a night of drinking is because your blood sugar is very low. Easy way to fix this is to drink naturally sweet juices. Something like orange juice.

people used to tell me that the best way to get the rest of the alcohol out of your system is to have one more drink when you wake up, such as a beer. supposedly, adding a little more alcohol in your system after you wake up stimulates your body to begin metabolizing the alcohol still lingering in your system from the previous night. i've never tried this myself, so i can't tell you if it actually works or not, but i've been told this by more than a handful of people, so if you're desperate, you can give it a try.

btw, i've been in your shoes before and had also swore off drinking in the future, just like you have. unfortunately, 2-3 weeks later, i'm back to drinking again.
