Has anybody ever entered into a raffle and win a car, lotto, etc? Or ever part of a game show or anything of the sort? Anybody here famous? Just curious.

my mom's friend once won a bmw 5 series, in a raffle during a golf tornament.

 

Winnings: a beer mug (bingo), $250.00 ladies' watch (lottery), 19" color TV (lottery), one year subscription of lottery tickets (lottery), 2 X $10.00 (lottery). I also competed against 3000 other applicants to get my present job. THAT was like winning the lottery.
I've been on TV (news) and the newspapers over a dozen times. Famous? Well, not really but I've had at least my 15 minutes worth. Went to court once as one of the prosecutor's "expert" witnesses for a motorcycle accident trial.
I prefer to stay anonomous but sometimes these things just creep up on me.

 

When I first came to DC Metro area my friend I purchased a lotto ticket. The grand total was somewhere near 28 million.
I hit 5 out of 6 numbers and was very excited. Turns out over 300 people hit 5/6. I won around $90. Not bad for $5 lotto ticket.

The car lottery is something I am considering. There is a lottery here in Canada, called the "Cash and Car's lottery", it is for some foundation, they give limited ticketing, but each ticket is $100 so its pretty steap, but odds in winning are 1 in 15, and you can win more than once, they put your name back in the pot... There are thousands of cash prizes ranging from 150 to 1,000,000, and 43 cars to auction! Including a Mercedes SL500, and A Porsche Carrera 911, Boxster S is the early bird draw, 350Z, and lots and lots more!...

 

wow that canada cash and car lottery sounds awesome! I'd definitely try that out if I lived in that area.

I won a bike once in a meijer raffle. I also won $15 from the lottery. I think my turn at the big win is coming up.. I should go buy a lottery ticket..
