Default Having money problems sucks!!!

Man I am so sick of this crap!!! My wife had surgery last November,(that my insurance company refused to pay for) and had a couple of complications after the surgery. Well the fun doesn't end there. Yesterday I get a bill in the mail from the Hospital, that my insurance company decided not to pay, for $7500. Then today I get another from the ambulance service that took her to the hospital the second time for another $650. I am so sick of all these damn bills I could scream!!!
We were getting a home equity loan to do some home improvements, but now it looks like all I will be doing with the money is paying off all these damn bills we keep getting. Oh and to top it all off I have to cancel my plans to buy an S2000 this summer. Sorry just had to blow off a little steam. Man I am mad!!

Well first of all I hope your wife is O.K.!
Yeah, hospital bills suck ass and I would fight with the insurance company and maybe you can talk to a lawyer - In some instances you can get free legal advise to see if they are liable for any of her expenses, It also might be possible to make payments on a bill with the hospital collection dept. Last but not least and I am not suggesting this but an unpaid medical bill might not be as bad as an unpaid credit card on your credit report - many medical bills for some reason can be overlooked if you are concerned with your credit rating - I found out the hard way when I was 21 and had to have emergency heart surgery - I had insurance but had to battle with them while I was recovering and I had accumulated over $75'000.00 in medical bills. Insurance companies can burn in hell!

My issues were resolved and now I have an HMO and everytime I see a doctor I have to do something to make sure it is paid!
Have faith and it will get better, I hope you get your car I really do and I hope you and your wife get to enjoy some great top down weather! Life is short - buy the car!

Dude, glad your wife is okay! Insurance companies suck, but it's the lawyers that caused all this.

Thanks for the support guys Just to let you know my wife is doing great! I know we'll be ok, and every time I say I can't get my S my wife says, "Yes you will" before I can even finish my sentence. She wants me to be happy. I am going to call the insurance company on Monday and see what the deal is. I really hope they just overlooked something and we can get them to pay for it. Life goes on, at least my wife and I are healthy and both have a lot to be thankful for. Thanks again guys

If your insurance company won't budge, call the hospital and discuss the price of the services. I have worked in two hospital systems and the simply fact is that that all fees can be negotiated. They would rather have some money than none.

1) discuss the bills with the insurance company, the hospital and the doctor. Insurance companies will seize any opportunity to screw you. If they deny, try again. Also, getting the MD to state it something is a medical necessity will help. I've had to write more than a couple letters for patients. Give it a shot.
