shure. get the SE110, it's not that expensive and the sound is amazing (but probably not as amazing as the $499 version)...

Check out the Sennheiser PX100 headphones. They have been consistently rated as one of the top sub-$100 headphone choices in headphones, period. I have some Shure in-ear headphones and my PX100s beat them in both bass response and sound quality, hands down. They look FUNKY but don't let that fool you; they're collapsable, very sturdy, and don't fall off (like many in-ear designs sometimes do). Plus they're open-ear, so noise around you can still be heard (important if you're working out outdoors and there's a bus coming towards you).

I'd probably just get the gummies. Or the sony ex71's are nice, they have different size ear plugs, so you can adjust them to not fall out.

If you are running, you will be sweating alot, I wouldn't risk some high end phones. Just get whats cheap and won't fall out.

thanks for all the suggestions

i like the price of the JVC gumy, but people on amazon seems to complain about its comfort

i am looking into Sony EX71/51 and the Sennheiser CX-300

both seems to be good at a decent price (decent means i don't have to worry about replacing them when they wear out cause i run with them)

I am all about the cheapies because the $20 ones sound close to the $100+ one to me.

But I do highly recommend noise cancelling headphones for frequent fliers. The Bose models are sweet, but I bought the cheapy Sony's for $40 and really appreciate a lot of the ambient noise cancelation when watching movies on my ipod mid flight.

in your area if you can locate a office to do it consider getting a custom molded pair of ear buds with sound drivers in them, for the gym they really stay in the ear. i paid about $100 at a sportbike show for the pair i have.

because they fit way into the ear they block quit alot of ambient sound and the driver is in close to your ear. they sound better than average, appear quite loud since there is no ambient noise. because they are a custom fit you can wear them 4hours till your ears drop off due to a staph infection.

there is a s2ki peep that comes out of the wood work here to say how bad it is to block your hearing while running. just maybe you will not hear it coming and get run over while doing your jog. be sure to post up if this happens.

below is typical pic of what to expect:
