I'm starting a company to do project management consulting: quantitative risk analysis primarily.

I'd wanted to use the name "Providence Consulting", but there's already a Providence Consulting Group in Monterey, CA with a well-established web presence.

I've batted around a couple of other ideas, but thought that the bright, creative people here might be able to offer some great suggestions.

Serious suggestions only, if you please.

Thanks.

I'm in Marketing and one thing to keep in mind is that simpler names are easier to remember. Keep it short and basic whenever possible, making good use of three-letter acronyms when you can. Also, if you plan on having a web presence be sure your address isn't ridiculous...

i.e. www.this_web_address_is_too_long_to_possibly_remem ber_and_spell_correctly.com

Maybe consider using "risk" in the title somewhere.

a friend of mine (actually my friends brother) runs/owns his own buisiness. Now while I can not remember the exact name at this moment it is named after what his wifes father called her as a child, called "Empriss" or something wierd name. He's doing great and it makes a good icebreaker when people ask him why his company is named that.
So my recommendation, while a professional sounding name is great, something personal to you can work just as well.

Use your own name in the title. It shows that you are willing to place your own reputation behind your work, and as your company grows to include more than one person it gives your clients reassurance that they are talking to someone with stature when they talk to you.

Will, the company is Risk Mitigation Associates and it's open for business. The web site still needs some work, but it's up and running and is, at least, servicible. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think.

If anyone here knows of any companies that have ever been behind schedule or over budget on a project and might be interested in some help to ensure that it doesn't happen again, I'm open to referrals. One might say eager.

Thanks!
