Default HELP!!! I need a new mattress...............

I know it has been discussed before, but yesterday my wife and I were out and got STICKER SHOCK from a mattress It's been 17 years since we bought a new one and thought one might be in order.....................anyway, does anyone have access to consumer reports or any suggestions on a decent mattress for a decent price $700~1000. I know some of you got Chinese mattresses @ $300 but I have no idea of anything like that in Ohio. Thanks for your help............

Go for a latex fiber filled mattress. They are very supportive and comfortable and retain their shape very well. I paid $1500AUD(750USD) a couple of years ago, when a good quality innerspring mattress cost about $1000AUD(500USD).

I have a good quality pocket sprung mattress. I decided to spend a lot to get a good quality product as I suffer from back problems.
Since having the new bed, my back problems have decreased considerably.
Try to get the best you can afford.

Matresses are like other furniture, too. The prices are generally negotiable in the middle and upper product ranges.

Don't waste your money on a regular mattress. Get a Select Comport mattress. I paid $1,100 for a queen size and it was delivered to my house. (QVC) You can look at these on-line. The best feature of this mattress is it never wears out! And, you can set your side on FIRM and your wife set hers on SOFT. It made all of my back problems go away!
PM me if you need more info.

My queen-sized Sealy Posturpedic ($600) was well worth the money. Always a pleasure to get into bed and easy to fall asleep in.

I've tried all sorts of beds and ensembles and I'm still of the opinion that a $50 foam rubber matress on the floor is the best of them all. Currently using a futon... piece of junk... think I'll go back to the floor.
