Try www.dpreview.com

They have sample photos and complete reviews, and a forum.

717 Samples: Click Here

5700 Samples: Click Here

Both are a little overkill and bulky for 90% of the casual users. A smaller camera that fits in your pocket and has 3 or 4 megapixels is more convenient and still takes excellent 8 x 10 photos.

Check out the "Reviews" section for what users said about the cameras after using them:

No problem, it's tough to know what to get.

Of the two cameras that you are thinking about, I'd choose the Nikon. I haven't had good luck with Sony stuff, had great results with 3 different Nikon digicams.

It really depends on what you need to do with it. If you just want an easy camera that takes decent pix, almost any of the newer <$500 cameras will be fine. For my S2000 I prefer something small, so I got a Minolta Dimage X for ~$250, the newer Dimage Xi 3mp version is only around ~$300 on eBay. It's so small that it fits easily in your shirt pocket, very fast, easy to download, good battery life, and takes decent photos.

I'm in the process of making the same decision. My buddy just bought the Sony and it's a nice camera. Clear pics, lots of different funtions, and the camera itself looks very nice.
