All dog breeds are genetically manipulated. They've been doing it for hundreds of years. The same goes for any domesticated animal.

actually I believe what seung said is correct. they require a lot of care, you have to clean out the crevices to make sure that they don't trap dirt and other harmful particles in there. Which causes rashes and skin irritations. Not the easiest dogs to own, but they are very loyal.

I had a friend who bred Shar Pei's. The adults don't have the wrinkles like the pups and they are quite ugly as adults IMO.

2,000 dollars is about 4 times what they go for in most places with decent breeders ....
