If they get arrested for minor in possession, and it can be proven that you bought it... Yes, you are responsible (providing for minors? something like that... ). Not sure what the penalties are in CA, but they're pretty steep in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Teme, let me guess, one of the kids are now black mailing you for money? Since you're already busted, might as well go back and party with 'em Kidding... but yes you would be guilty for assisting a minor...

wantone is right....
why the question? did you get cited? assuming that b/c you can post on s2ki, you're not in jail. (unless you're in Coto de Caza's PD jailhouse... i heard they have DSL)

The police have nothing to do with this...yet. My friend is like 10 months younger than me and her parents flipped out because she said i bought it. Best i can figure, it would take someone who was there to say that i bought it in a police report in order for me to get in trouble. This whole situation is ridiculous. All of my friends are 19-22 and my crazy friends dad flipped out. I woke up this morning to him screaming at me on the phone.

You are guilty of contributing to the deliquency of a minor. It's a misdemeanor.

I think others said it would be burden of proof, but if you are with them and they are drinking under age you'd still be guilty as I remember from when I was young and an 18 year old got charged with that and I was 16. He didn't buy me any of the alkyhol, but was hanging out with me underage drinking.

Anyway, your friend is a b*t$h for ratting you out, and her Dad needs a one way ticket to reality and a swift kick in the backside. It's more his daughter's fault than yours. You didn't force anything down her throat (that I know of ).

If he presses this to a legal matter, then I'll drive down to where you are and knock him with a billy club.

DAMN, he's such a bitch!

hahahahah thisi s so funny, this is the sort of crap we get here in australia with 15, 16 yr olds who aren't old enough to buy alcohol.
here the legalage is 18 and we have 15,16,17 yr olds who act like 19,20 yr olds in the us.
but when the get old enough its no longer taboo so they forget about it.
an interesting note is that in se asain countries like hong kong they dont act like this because the laws dont exist, anyone can buy alcohol even in the local 7/11 convenince store.
dont sweat it, stupid old ducks getting excited about nothing, jeezuz they're like 20 yrs old, thats an adult u know and if they cant think for themselves then thats a damn shame.

Ok, you might have to check on this one, but I remember reading awhile ago that there are 19 states where it is illegal to purchase alcohol but not illegal to consume it in a controlled environment. So, you'd have a shot in court since there is precedence. Now the problem might/would be determining a controlled environment.
