well, i guess first of all straight to the point. im a junior at a community college and just am about to transfer and had send out all my transcripts to the following schools:

uc santa cruz
uc santa barbara
uc san diego
uc riverside
uc irvine

well this month i get back replys from the schools. okay so far i have gotten into santa cruz, but have no intentions of going there. didnt even know where the school was till they sent me a map of their school back to me.

i guess my point is, what school is the best choice for me? my major is sociology(yeah i know its a bs major) and i just wanted to know facts of the different areas. my number one choice right now is irvine and please oh god i hope i can get into that school. well yeah, for some reason this has really been on my mind lately and just felt like sharing my woes.

so if anybody can share some info on these cities please feel free to do so. so far i heard santa cruz is like potheadville. dunno if its true or not.

I say UC San Diego is the better school of the lot judging by reputation, stats, etc.

UC Irvine is pretty damn good too. But I heard it's not that hard to get into.

I won't go to UCSC if I am you.

I am in UC Santa Cruz now, it is a very pretty campus, but since I come from SoCal I don't like here much.

there are a ghetto side and there are a pretty nice side of Santa Cruz. yes, 90% of the people smoke pot here, but so is other college (I don't smoke pot)

I think UCSC is a nice school but I don't like becasue far away home, that just my own problem. if you design to come here, try College 8 and Steveson, these are the nicest college, don't try college 9....

and there are very nice road here for S2000. but you mostly won't get a parking permit for 1st year student, Junior is fine.

yea, I forget there are a lot hot chicks here too.

but still I think most the area is pretty ghetto here...

sounds interesting, it sounds alot better then going to riverside. that school is my ultimate last choice out of desperation etc. avxs2000, yeah i too am from so cal and thats the thing that scares me the most is leaving this area. if worst comes to worst and i get denied from irvine and san diego then santa cruz here i come.

hey quick question what year are you? i mean are you a junior status etc? also whats the campus diversity like? i mean mostly white, asian etc.
