Default hit a bird today

i was going @ 90 on a country road going to work... i was playing with the radio and sometimes birds fly close but never hit..well today it looked, well too close and as i gazed in the rear view i saw a cloud of feathers in the air... i pulled over and inspected the top as that was my greatest fear of it being tore up. no damage... i went around back and saw nothing either.. i went around front and right next to my H sybol was a big blood splatter and chicken bits. kinda gross but whatever.. no water at hand so i hoked a loog on it and wiped it down w/ a rag... i was sick to my stomach yet laughing at the same time... thought i would share my expierience...so road kill or whatever you call a bird i now have a 1 count in my S so far....anyone else?

SUCKS! I much prefer the thread by the owner who hit a couple of birds and then found them alive a couple of days later living in his front bumper.

hey thomas. Lol, thats because you live in Chuluota, mostly back country roads back there heh.

I live in Oviedo, so we're like, right next to each other. What color s2000 do you have, I probably seen you around.

I hit a big ass crow when my parents had a minivan. We were only doing 20-25mph through a neighborhood, and the crow flew right into our windshield...it was the funniest thing. It looked just like one of those ducks on Duck Hunt right when they get shot. Then it just kept on going.

My bird count is actually 4 now...only 1 in the S though.

I once managed to hit a frickin' hawk at about 80 mph. Left a huge red and brown streak up my windshield. Amazingly, it didn't shatter.

I got 2 bird stories.

1: Cruising down my local street at about 35MPH, three doves were picking at something in the road. All three looked up as I was approaching, two immediately took off... the third decided to get one or two more pecks in... when he looked up again, it decided to get out in a hurry.

The bird leapt into the air, flapping mightily, yanking back on the collective trying to gain altitude. I remember thinking to myself, "He ain't gonna make it..." then he does a splat on the hood and bounces into the windshield. I got a great view of the bird's ass when it hit. Left a nice greasemark on the window.

In the rearview mirror all I saw was a cloud of feathers.

2: Driving around the streets surrounding the Rosebowl. There's a 15MPH limit around here and lots of joggers approaching the car. As I was driving a pigeon landed right in front of the passenger side front wheel...

If you ever ran over a paper cup just right and heard the loud "pop", that's the sound the bird made. Joggers approaching the car stopped in shock and disgust mouths agape. My car was followed by an obligitory cloud of feathers, and a pile of pigeon debris was left on the road.

3: I was 5 years old and looked at the grill on my father's huge Ford pickup. There, on the grill was a sparrow doing its best impersonation of the Anhauser-Busch Eagle on the radiator.

do you guys try to avoid the birds at all if you could? If I see a pigeon or bird on the ground or even in the air, I slow down or swerve to miss it. You guys just seem to plow right on thru

I got a rabbit once. I thought my tire popped, so I went to look at what I go and looks like the easter bunny didn't make it...

If there are canadian geese around, I'll try to kill them. I don't care if it damages my S, I hate geese more than the love for my car...
