They were thinking just that. You'd be surprised at the subliminal messages that marketing comes up with. In this case, the headline reads "feds cut rates", then below it they show a stick image sort of pissing, or maybe something else as suggested. They hope that your subconscious picks it up as "I'm going to piss on the damn Feds by refinancing".


This is my favorite subliminal image ever. I was adicted to these almonds for years until my girlfriend pointed out the subliminal message to me. It's not even that subtle, which made me feel stupid:
