Holy suspension killer!
I've learned on a bike that when you are going faster, you take less of a hit when you come down. Your momentum is more forward than down, and while you are falling at the same rate, more of the impact is directed into forward motion than crushing impact. I'm not going to try to justify with physics on paper, but my own observation of the physical world has proven this over and over
