Home Network probs aaaaaaaaarhhh.!!!..
trying to install a network at home with 2 desktops and one laptop.
the main desktop (WIN XP) is connected via wire to a wireless router that is then connected to a ADSL modem. The other desktop and laptop are then connected with wireless adapters.
after many hours of messing about - it seems by chance I got the thing working - such that all the computers could get through on the ADSL internet connection. However things started to go wrong - I just rebooted the wireless desktop and it would not longer get a signal to the router, and then later as I had to move the power cabling, I switched everything off. I carefully switched everything back on (in order) this morning - and I am back to square one again - I can't connect to internet through the router even on the wired computer, let alone the wireless ones. This is very frustrating and wasting loads of time that I could use to clean the S2000!! and go for a drive
whilst I had connection established last night - tried to setup the rest of the network (printer etc) but nothing doing.
I know now all the hardware and cables are good as it worked for several hours - but something to do with the computers when they reboot????
I have both Belkin wireless router and Belkin wireless adapter.
any ideas gratefully received as the helpline is closed and the technical support webpages don't offer much.

what ips are you using for the 3 computers? No you don't need to tell me, it is just they should all be different and they should also be in the 10.xx.xx.xx range (or 192.168.xx.01/02/03) amd not the same subnet your broadband provider gave you. the router should be assigned the address from your provider or set to be a dhcp client from your provider. the back side address should be on the same subnet as your 3 computers ... the 3 computers should use that address as their default route. it sounds like you are also haveing issues with the wireless hub and network cards. I have a d-link with 3 different cards and they all have different security settings. you will need to read the docs to make sure you have them all set up the same. the cards in the computers should have some sort of utility s/w that will hsow you signal strength... use it to test your connection to the wireless hub... if you are carefull, all will work out. I love wireless. also never forget the central tenet of routing... routers only work if the subnets are different from the source to the destination.
quick summary...
router frontside address --- dhcp or assigned by provider EX: 207.100.94.32 default route (on router) 207.100.94.33
backside router ip 10.10.10.1
computer 1 10.10.10.11 default route 10.10.10.1
computer 2 10.10.10.12 default route 10.10.10.1
computer 3 10.10.10.13 default route 10.10.10.1
all things being equal, make sure you can ping the individual ip's from any computer... 1 to 2;1 to 3; 2 to 1;2 to 3; 1 to router (10.10.10.1 address); 2 to router; 3 to router...
if all the above pings work... try and ping the routers default route... the 201.100.93.33. if this works the router is basically working... if not check the router config. if the original test pings do not work.. check the wireless signal strength and config...
good luck.
