Well, 720p on a 1024x768 screen wouldn't look too bad. There are plasmas with this resolution, but they use rectangular pixels to maintain a 16:9 aspect ratio. 1024x768 is almost enough to display 720p entirely, and you'd be hard pressed to see that much of a difference. The big problem here is aspect ratio, and the probably inability of this projector to maintain the aspect of an input signal. It's designed to be connected to a PC, where the output signal will always be 4:3 when hooked to a 4:3 aspect display, regardless of what the actual content being displayed is.. i.e. when playing a 1:1.78 aspect DVD (16:9) and outputting the signal to a 4:3 aspect PC monitor, the PC is outputting a 4:3 image with the black bars built into the signal. an HD cable box, or the xbox360 doesn't output black bars in the same way.. they're going to output only the 16:9 image.

720p Home theater projectors can be had now for around $800. Great picture, and no problem hooking up your cable, xbox, PC, etc.

You should return the projector and just get one with HDMI input in the back and not RGB. That projector is more of an business office Powerpoint type of projector and not an HDTV projector.

You should stick to watching the WVU OU game on a small TV.. don't want to get upset and break your new investment

Check out the Optima HD70 and Mitsubishi HC1500. Both are 720p naive, offer good pictures, and are very reasonably priced these days. Browse this forum for some good info http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=68
