Default Homeless And Dogs.

Everytime I saw a homeless person with a dog, I feel so sorry for the poor dog. A homeless could barely take care of him/herself, let alone a dog. Today, I saw a homeless man with a beautiful, sweet-looking dog. I gave him 5 bucks and said "Please feed the dog! Better yet, why don't you give the dog to a shelter?" He said: "No, I won't give it to a shelter, and I do feed him." Yeah right! He could barely feed himself, much less a dog. Why do they have to drag the dogs into their miserable life conditions? Let others take care of the dogs.

During the past couple weeks, I've unusually encountered 5+ beggars who asked me for money, and I had to give each of them because I could never say no. I'm not a push-over by any means, but when it comes to begging me for money or food, I could never refuse.

I hear you! Last weekend I gave a homeless guy that came to my door lunch instead of money - he seemed grateful so I didn't mind Also, the local petland here in Orlando always has these no kill shelters that sponsor adoption days at the stores and I always buy extra bags of pet food for a donation instead of cash - at least I know the dogs or cats will eat while they wait for a new home!

i encounter 10-15 homeless persons a day, so for me, i get used to it, and do not feel bad for ignoring them and not offering them money. even though it's a nice jesture to offer someone a few bucks, in reality, you're just making it easier for them to live the homeless life, instead of them developing the incentive and motivation to pick their ass up and turn their lives around. as for the homeless and dog issue, i guess part of it is for the purpose of manipulating the public to feel sorry for the poor animal and thus be more willing to give money to the homeless person--much like what happened with you. you gave the homeless $5 so he can buy some food for his dog, but reality is that you do not know what he will be spending that $5 on.

Yes, I do realize that dogs are a part of their manipulation, however, dogs are also very good companions for them too. It doesn't matter if it's a scheme, I'd still feel bad for the poor animals. But I do think that if they have a few bucks, they would feed the dogs more. Also, I think there should be a law that prohibits people who can't take care of themselves from owning pets.

As for the "getting off their asses" part, if humiliation and hardships don't get them off their feet, nothing will, not my spare change.

Yes, I do realize that it is a part of their scheme/manipulation, but dogs are also excellent companions for them too. It doesn't matter much to me if it's a scheme, I'd still feel bad for the animals. I think that if they have a few bucks, they will also feed the dogs. As for the "getting off their asses" part, if humiliation and extreme hardships don't get them off their feet, nothing else will, and certainly not my spare change.
