Expedia.com

Or just telephone them.

These days you can usually find some other local place to hop on their internet....

It's ironic, I got free wifi at some cheaper hotels, but at at a couple of 5 stars I stayed at, they charged 10-15 dollars/day. For 400 a night you should get free wi fi and a blow job.

I have noticed this as well.

I think it because in general on business if your company is putting up in a decent hotel they are also going to foot the bill for internet access if necessary.

However, individual consumers are generally looking for more value, so cheaper hotels/ motels use free internet access as a way of attracting people.

Just my take.

It isn't consistent. I've stayed at quite a Doubletree, Westins, Sheratons, Merriotts and Hiltons when I was travleing in my previous jobs and depending on the location, free wifi isn't always the norm.

yea its really weird. i used to stay at full services marriot for business and they would charge for internet. at their lower tier hotels such as courtyard or residence inn, the internet was free. after a while, i started to like the residence inns more, cuz of the bigger room, kitchen, and free broadband. also, they always had a free keg of beer ready for me, after getting back from work!

they probably figure since you are on a business account they might as well tack on the charge and you can just expense it.
