And most Texans would bristle at being called Libertarians just as most N.E. folk would get riled up at being called Socialists, but you know there's more truth than fiction in both labels.

IIRC my 7th grade Civics Texas was also brought into the Union with the right to split into 3 states. That would level the playing field a little. It still wouldn't offset places like Connecticut or Rhode Island that are smaller physically and population wise than some of our cities.
