10 offices down, I'd say close to 75-80 yards away.
I have a corner office away from traffic. The only reason anyone would walk down my neck of the woods is to purposely see me.

If you don't count my wife (who is my One True Boss), I'm my own boss. It has its good points and its bad points. The good point is that if I want to take a break and go see Matrix Reloaded, I go. The bad is that I'm always at work (I work at home), and I always feel that there is an endless amount of work to do, so I always feel like I need to be at it.

Falls into the "be careful what you wish for" category.

I'm in NY and my boss on one project I'm currently working on is in Denver. Also, another boss on another project is on his honeymoon in Hawaii. But they both have my cell phone number and I hate using my cell phone for business purposes.

My Boss can get on my nerve! ( Another self-employed member here)

My schedule is very very flexible. I run the wholesale department of the family business and I am limited to a few days of work a week. I was getting so bored I actually ventured into acquiring my own select clientele. But I get to the movie's every week, go to the gym, 2 hour lunches, long drives, etc. The list goes on here....
