2 roommates and I are looking for a house to rent. We've been looking thru the paper, but most of the #'s we call, so far no answer. We looked at 2 houses today. One had burgalar bars and was in a bad neighborhood, and the other house we looked at had mouse traps, roach bait, foundation problems, walls buckling, bad paint, etc etc...

Are their any other places I can look for houses to rent? Kinda like those thrifty nickle want ads, is their like a thrifty nickle house rent guide?

just about impossible to find a house for rent in dallas.. but if your gonna do it.. go through an apartment locator.. or real estate agent.. find one that does rental houses.. and make sure its a person whos judgment you think you can trust.. (ie: full set of teeth, etc.)

apartments.com (i think) allows you to search just rental houses and townhomes

I rented mine through a real estate agent who specialized in rental properties, so I recommend doing this. While I might have paid a little more, it was worth it to me to be able to tell him what I was looking for and have just those things that fit the bill shown to me.
