I keep my cat off the cars in the garage by lifting the hood up. Pain in the butt to do it everyday, but it works flawlessly. She doesn't want to jump from the side or the back, but only from the hood.

That was hilarious! Bet that hurt the cat, though - that's a fair bit of water and it fell quite a ways.
