I always pass the word on but sadly I hardly ever meet other owners as the car is so rare over here.

I tell local owners to visit the Central Texas forum of this site, but I don't mention or push on them the rest of it. A lot of the new owners I've encountered lately are older women, and until recently, I was really afraid that the atmosphere of Off Topic and S2000 Talk would turn them off to the rest of the site and the enthusiast experience. Given the new standards, I hope that all of the forums will see a resurgence of female presence.

P.S. if you don't believe me, see if you can count on more than one hand the number of female owners who post regularly to S2000 Talk and OT...

Sondra,

There are still some gentlemen out here. While the site may be predominantly male and tend toward macho, I hope women can enjoy the benefits of the site and overlook those who have forgotten their manners. I certainly don't like being tarred with a brush that doesn't fit (and I'm sure that was not your intention).

Cal, I absolutely didn't mean you! I could name names, but a select few made this forum less than friendly and a bit unsavory for a time to a lot of people. For newcomers, you will understand that amidst a room full of roses, the repugnant reek of one little dog turd will fill a room and overcome the sweetness of the most beautiful flower! I would love to know that a newcomer can come here anytime without any necessary caveats issued, and I'm hoping that the new standards keep in place an expected level of decency such that everyone can come here and feel like a part of it.

Hey just had a great idea. We can rate post right. Can we have a button to rate users,, If someone is being especially mean we can at least make a dent in there personallity. I suggest something ike ebay backtalk sections.

And I want cards to hand out as there are lots of S2000's in san diego that I never see at the meets. I could really use the cards as I don't have the time to sit around and wait for them. Maybe I should just put it on the back of my personal cards.

Try these for cards:

s2ki cards by Muz

animeS2K's proposed designs thread

I have the s2ki decal on my trunk lid and have a set of Muz's cards to give to any owners I meet

I tell people about this forum as much as I can. Sometimes, it's hard to do, when you're screaming along at VTEC.
