I was thinking about joining the Air Force.

What about people that are married??? Me and my wifey is super tight. She refused to let me join. The way everything is going right now, every job to me is the same. College is financially impossible, so I think this is a good option.
depends on what job you get.

most of my friends are married, they say is alright but then again, they are programers and com. specialist no PJ's or SF.

im airforce.

24 years of service here - Army. Iraq during 04-05.

Working for DOD is good stuff, reasonably good money, with lots of potential for growth. If you and your spouse can't be apart for any amount of time, though, then you'd be better off elsewhere.

Notice almost every poster here saying they're deployed or are going back. For soldiers, that means 12 months minimum away from Mama.

I'm not but my dad was growing up so I grew up on several Air Force bases. I am so glad he did, I really enjoyed moving all over and credit that as to why I am pretty open minded and cultured person...

same here! well, army bases for me. I loved moving around, and still have a lot of connections around the country.

and I have to agree, it definantly makes you a more open minded person, and a lot more respectful of other people.
