i didn't buy my house, it was left to me by my grandfather, but the kicker is i live right next door to my parents, which i don't mind, but it drives my wife crazy sometimes
i'll tell you what you do, find a decent house with a garage, find a woman
buy your s2k, wait i had that backwards buy your s2k first then find a woman

Getting a wife is easier said than done as well

I'm 22, and just bought a house this past Decemeber. I did, however, start renting in an Apt beforehand, but for only 6 months, and cancelled the lease to buy the house.
I'll tell you, i didnt want a house.. i wanted a car. Save yourself the headache, and if you're in the market for both, or even if the thought of owning a home has crossed your mind (which it obviously has), get the house first. I really couldnt be happier with being a homeowner, there's freedom in it, although you do take on quite a bit of responsibility.
If you get the Apt, and your offshore most the time, then you really are just throwing your money away, bc you arent enjoying what you're renting. I dont think renting is bad, believe me, i enjoyed it. It has a lot of pros, but a house, in my opinion, has more.
I thought, "If i buy a house now, i won't be able to buy my S for months or years." Well that was wrong. I just purchased my S a month ago (if that) and im happy i bought the house first, bc now i have a garage to keep it in.
Be smart, think things over, and don't rush any of it. Its better to put your money in something that won't depreciate (which is hard to say in this economy), than in something that will..

S2000s have been around for 9 years already and not about to disappear like a fart om the wind just like that. Besides, if I start a mortgage on a property, I can lease it out if the boss puts me on something really substancial such as a year or 2 in a differant country. I can lease out my property like that right? Half way through my mortgage?

If you saw how ugly a bugger I was then you would understand
