I'm 32, live in the Bay Area but I'm only 3 years into my new career (Software QA); and make ~$80K.

My hobby makes me ~$500/yr (yes, just five hundred dollars), but with the option of A LOT more (~$5-$10K).

And NO I'm not listing either of the damn companies. . .

Now that I'm thinking about it; why are you (the OP) asking?

The information by itself doesn't exactly tell you anything unless you plan on drawing from some huge sample.

Even then, while I'm no statistician, I'd consider this sample (anything from S2ki.com) pretty skewed, and not a terribly wide sampling by any means.

24 years old, Corporate Recruiter for Engineering and IT focused clients. Last year's income was something around $60K, this year will likely be about $65-70K. Relocation cost me literally about 4-5 months of productivity trying entering a new geographical market with no existing relationships on a personal or professional level.

Income should've been a lot closer to $80-90K but that's the breaks of moving. At least my company was supportive financially and in other ways since I was moving to benefit them in the long term.
