Default How should I hang these Pictures?

OK, these images had a quick trip through photoshop, but I think you'll get the idea. I'm trying to surprise Ms. Ironwedge by hanging a couple of prints in the the bedroom (which we just had painted).

Problem is, I have no sense of proportion when it comes to this kinda thing, so could someone help?

How should I hang these: Flush with the edges, slightly inboard of the edges, or slightly outboard of the edges.

Flush with the edges

Inboard of the edges

Outboard of the edges

As a rule, you never hang even #'d paintings over the backboard. It just has to be an odd # like 1 or 3. But of the 3 you posted, I'd choose the one in the middle.

Thanks! Guess it's back to the gallery to buy a third.

so...

If you use even, it'll look odd
If you use odd, it'll look even.

Did I sum that up about right?

Master has spoken. Also, Ironwedge, if you were Chinese, it's bad Feng Shui. 2 paintings over you and Ms. Wedge's head? It's like a tombstone or something
