The sequence is 1/2 plus 1/4 plus 1/8 plus 1/16 plus 1/32 plus... And that sequence most definitely equals 1. (Try it yourself with a calculator - you only need to go up to about n=7 to see how it will end up.)
And the fun way to calculate e^(i*pi) is to use Google.

(Note that it's written differently than you have it, e^i(pi) which is the same as saying (e^i)*pi, rather than e^(i*pi))
