Howard Stern makes more money than you!
Howard Stern makes $100 million a year and has signed a 5-yr deal with Sirius. He gets almost $400,000 for a 4-hr show each day, for talking about boobies, bra size, penis, etc. 
How's that for American dream?

Well if I'd just be willing to put in a little more overtime.
truthfully, I can't fathom how he is worth that, I guess the advertising bucks are there, but for what he offers, seems a little whack to me

The one thing most people dont know......
Howard does get $500 million for 5 years BUT.....that money pays for the show. Meaning, he has to pay all his staff, studio, etc etc etc. He has a big crew remember.
Also...to those saying he is NOT worth it.....
XM has what, 5 million subscribers now, to Sirius' 1.5 million.
Sirius is 13 bucks a month.
Howard Stern has about 20 million listeners.
If 1/4 of them get sirius to listen to his show....thats 5 million people paying 13 bucks a month. Thats $65 million a month, $780 million a YEAR! They PROFIT $280 million in one year. To put this in perspective....GM lost over 4 billion in 2005.
Now, if only 10% of his viewers get Sirius, thats 2 million people. Thats $26 million a month, $312 million a year. They would make back their money before his contract is up.
Also, Sirius gets paid a hefty price from Time Warner for his $9.95 a month HOWARD-STERN-ON-DEMAND.
They arent stupid. He will make Sirius a lot of money.

I could never understand paying David Letterman $16M a year back when he switched to CBS (a mere ~$10,000 per hour) .......paying Howard that kind of $ is insane.... but if they make $ out of it, then good for everyone.

Give it time, Sirius WILL surpass XM in total subscribers. They have an endless talent pool not to mention Mel Karmazin. That guy alone is a huge plus.
Many retailers were complaining they didn't have enough Sirius units to meet demand. The sub #s are only going to increase exponentially.
