NASA web traffic finally slowed down.

Check these out. The full picture of the cone nebula is even more amazing than the cropped shot....enjoy.....

Anyone know why the Hubble can't produce high resolution pictures of individual stars in the galaxies closest to us? I would think it could help reveal the endless supply of planets orbiting other stars. The Hubble can see back in time something like 130 billion light years. Single stars are too dim/small of a light source I'm assuming. I for one am ready for the "big" announcement. I'd like to see what our neighbors are driving.

Thanks for the pix dude, and the link, but I have a question. I think I read somewhere that the colors we are seeing in these images are in fact enhanced, like in real life if we were to be at the Eagle Nebula it wouldn't be as colorful as the pictures of it suggest. Any idea if this is true?

Thanks again

Andrew

Cool, that makes me feel good, I got the impression that these celestial events weren't reallyas beautiful as they are on Star Trek, and that burst my bubble, thanks for pluggin' it up .

Well I guess NASA didn't expect the overwhelming number of people trying to download the images and earlier it was incredibly slow. Now they have the images on multiple servers for downloading and it's much faster. On cable you can get the full ACS images in a few minutes.
