Hey, Macs can view Windoze Media. The problem is that I'm not getting a file or stream from the server.

Just about the only thing my Mac is not compatible with is all the Windoze Virii . Can't tell you how upset that makes me .

Ah, got it. Had to enter the URL directly into Windows Media Spewer. Looks like the parking lot at Cremorne Woolworths almost any night of the week .

I think it's a very recent codec. My computer had to go out and download it. You then get a stream that I can't find a way to record to disk.

Oh, and your Mac runs a virus called OS9

There was nothing 'Free' about it.

I wouldn't be bragging about using Windows media ... trying to view this video crashed my Windows 2000 machine completely (ie, power off, not even reset worked). Unfortionately, it also destroyed some required system files, and I needed to re-install W2K...unfortionately the W2K CD will only install to "new" systems, so I had to reformat the hard drive.

One movie, two lost days, 20gig of lost data and applications I had to restore (I do have backups!) and reinstall.

Well, it was apx. 6 months since my last forced clean install, so I guess it could have just been the Windows FU timer going off...

Ouch!! It may not have been free, but it wasn't anywhere near that expensive.

Don't any of you guys convert to Mac. You wouldn't know what to do with the spare time.

Last clean install: January 1984
