I was reading that laser eye surgery thread and suddenly had this flashback: when I got my LASIK done on both eyes, the doc gave me a valium pill (tiny little thing) about 30 minutes before the surgery. I remember distincly how good I felt while on the table. I was in a cloud...I felt so light and yet so happy...I couldn't stop smiling...

I think valium is dangerous...

Don't get too used to it bud. Apparently it can be hard to give up once you've got a liking for it.

Valium rules. I use it for long cross country flights. I love to fly but if I want to sleep the entire flight, take about 10 mg before boarding. Usually asleep before takeoff. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

The only way to fly!!!!!!

As for fun, take about 5 mg and have a glass of wine.

Just so happens my Brother is a doctor and my dad is a pharmacist. Very nice combination if you ask me. If you have heath insurance that covers therapy just go to a shrink and tell them that you are overlly stressed about your job. No anxiety though, otherwise they will give you Xanax(which is also fun, don't get me wrong).

Try a large dose of midazolam (shorter acting benzodiazepine- same drug class) IV sometime- under med supervison, of course.

I actually don't like the feeling of benzodiazepines- I'm too much of a control freak. I had a large dose of one as a research subject once and couldn't remember the reasoning test I'd taken that am- which I found disturbing...
Don

Not to be too much of a nag, but remember, there is actually a good reason these are controlled substances. They do have dependance potential- and I like you Richard!

They gave me valium when I had my eyes done too but it didn't make me all light and happy as it did you. I was calm through the surgery though so I guess it did it's job!
