Default I do not like Michigan...

I'm not having much fun right now. I'm in BFE (aka Novi, MI), until thursday, for work.

1) It is rainy season.
2) I do not know ANYONE out here.
3) Girls here like tall white guys with Mustangs. I am 0 for 3.
4) I have to work this weekend.
5) I am on a 33.6k modem.
6) I have a rental car. It is not an S2k.

Any suggestions?

I can't believe it. I just went to the local Honda dealership to see if they had the 02's in. They were F**ing closed in the middle of a Saturday! What kind of Bizarro alternate universe is this place?!!?!

You're complaining about Novi? Novi is a part of the Detroit area - you shouldn't have to go far to find something to do.

1) The weather sucks here too. We're "upstream" of you, so don't get your hopes up for improvement. Also, welcome to the midwest.
2) no comment
3) They like tall white guys with anything with a V8 in it. Or even something that MIGHT have a V8 in it.
4) suckage
5) suckage x 10
6) It's raining and cold... ask for a C5, might solve all your problems!

Oh, I meant to say also that Novi isn't BFE, MI. That'd be the entire upper peninsula. Drive 7 or 8 hours north on I-75, go across the big Mac (mackinac bridge), and enter a whole new world where "high tech" means they have toilets that flush.

re: Novi, MI

Damn dude, So I went to Yahoo Maps to see where
Novi, MI is located. I had to zoom out to number 6
just to see that it is on the out skirts of Motown.
Now I see your dilemma. I would have to admit
that I wouldn't like being there either...... too
exciting for me.

Well, if you don't mind driving about twenty minutes - head down to Birminghan fo some local shopping. You can go to Royal Oak too which has been really trendy lately. You can drive another twenty minutes and head to the casinos in Detroit.

And if you want to do something cultural - check out Cranbrook - great little art museum and contemporary art gallery - plus a setting that Frank Llyod Wright would be proud to have designed (it's in Bloomfield Hills - about a fifteen minute drive).

If you can't tell - I grew up around there...and yea it pretty much sucks, but sometimes you can find some cool things to do
