Because just earlier, JC Penny also reported finely, and its stock jumped. Its P/E is not much different than Kohl's.
Oh, Target competes directly with Walmart, not Kohl's. Kohl's competes with JC Penny, Macy's, etc.

if i were you, instead of selling right away, id keep it for another couple of years. just because it dipped doesnt mean you wont make any money back.

I don't see Kohl's a competitor to Penney's and cetainly not Macy's. Kohl's looks to be about a step below Target and one step above K-Mart to me...at least that's the impression I get from the stores around here.

Sure they compete. What does Kohl's sell that my wife can't get at target? Nada. I know what you mean in terms of a narrower focus but Target > Kohl's. Just wondering why you'd pick a stock that some analysts pegged as over-priced even before the last three months of run-up.
