we just picked up our Audi S8 on the weekend!

it's a fabulous piece of machinery. not sure how it compares to the latest M5, but i assume it's comparable (save for the manual tranny).

anyways, it's a fast, well-balanced, full-sized, safe, luxo-cruiser.

even though it's only been a few days, i am thoroughy enjoying it.

the term "effortless velocity" definitely comes to mind.

oh yeah, and it comes with HUGE brembo brakes

I've seen a few at the dealership, they look awesome, and i'm sure the drive awesome too. I think Audi really has got it together and is making some great cars now!!!

a few more details:

heated leather Recaros up front
heated AND power seats in back
killer BOSE 14 speaker stereo w/sub
single in-dash CD and 6-pack in trunk
full suede, wood, leather interior - no vinyl/plastic
tip controls on heated sport steering wheel - it's small, though not as small as the S2000's

the car is a blast to drive and handles way better than a full-sized sedan should

never having had ample time behind the wheel of a quattro before, but the sesnsation when driving it hard is that the car is being pulled and pushed through a corner - i love it.

i'll provide further updates as we spend more time with the car
