I just drank a 6M solution of Hydrochloric acid in the lab
My junior year of highschool, sitting at our labtable. My labpartner spills some HCL while I'm away on accident and neglects to clean it up right away. I come back, sit down, lean on the table, and place both my forearms flat on the table in the puddled HCL. At first I think aaahhh shit someone spilled water on the table....oh wait my arms are burning...oh oh now they are really burning....lol a quick run to the facaut and blast my arms w/water and I'm fine.
Another HCL accident...(I had no part in this one)...stupid friend puts HCL in a used/empty Visine bottle, crosses off the lable w/marker. It ends up back in the medicine cabinet somehow...her boyfriend wore contacts...you know where this goes, strait to the emergency room!

Damn, Tedow. I apologize.
I could've sworn I was in OT. Thanks for the move.

.Anyway, I really hope this friend of yours was joking. I can't believe anyone is that dumb. Anyone have an idea what the concentration of our stomach acid is? My chemistry days are long gone, but 6 molar HCl strikes me as pretty damn strong...

Hmm, can't speak from experience but I wouldn't think 6M would be all that bad. You can drink 3M HCl and I don't think you'll even feel it. Is he sure about the concentration?
P.S. Chem labs typically use low molarity solutions because they know some dipshit is going to try to drink it, pour it on his head, in his eye, up his a$$, etc. Never ceases to amaze me the lack of common sense shown by some folks.
P.P.S. A polyethylene bottle (like a Pepsi bottle) will hold up quite well to HCl, even in its concentrated form. That's generally what the solution is stored in for industrial use (PE, that is, not Pepsi bottles
)

OH, forgot to mention:
If it's still bothering him, have him drink a good portion of water or milk (1/2 gal to 1 gal at least) to start diluting it and get some fresh air if possible. If it's still bothering him, tell him to go to the ER. DO NOT take any antacid right away, or he will learn the true meaning of the word PAIN.

Good grief...I hope your friend is okay...
