Default I love my Cock...

er Spaniel--but she bites me! Before you say, get rid of her or get a new dog---I was wondering if anyone has an idea of why she bites me and other people. Can she be trained not to be a mean dog? My friend's mother owns cocker spaniels and used to groom dogs said to be careful putting your face up to them--they'll bite your nose off. Well, she has already bit my cousin's nose and now my lips! But i still want to keep her? Do they make doggie dentures--j/k.

and about the subject title--gotta make it eye catchin so it will lure all you dirty minded people into my world--hee heee--Martha Stewart "It's a good thing..."

ciao ciao

PM Dogman, if anyone knows he will.

We had a dog that bit people, including everyone in our family.

My mother could just not get rid of it..

ehh that's all I have to say I suppose

Your dog bites you? What a lucky dog

Anyways, seems like ever cocker spaniel I've met/seen has tried to bite someone. I simply don't know why. The owners don't know either.

May, there is a behavioralist out off of Lime Creek Road in Austin who might be able to help. The training isn't cheap, but he's effective...

You really need to get the dog into a training class.

Usually dogs bite because of fear, Cocker Spaniels are notorious for being biters, because they have been poorly bred for years and they breed for how the dog looks more than they do for temperment.

That said you have a hard dog to work with.

You can do 2 things, you can train it in obedience and teach it that biting is wrong, take it to a behaviorist like Sondra said and hope you aren't pouring money into a bigger problem, or you put the dog down.

I'd try training it first.

i usually find that everything will bite if provoked. even a trained animal.
yes, cs are temperamental and will bite if provoked ie. you just changed the rules or something that made the dog tell you "mother fvcker, leave me the fvck alone, NOW!).
