Default I need advice for my job situation!

I'm a supervisor and am in charge of 3 people. One of them went to my boss and complained about me. My boss hasn't talked to me about it bit I found out from the other 2 people I supervise. This one person who complained tried to get the other 2 to go with him but they wouldn't and instead told me what he was up to. They informed me that he wants to get my job. I feel that I have done a lot for this guy and he is just showing a total lack of respect towards me. My main ? is tomorrow I have to work with this guy and I am not supposed to know he went to my boss but I have a bad temper! I don't want to blow up as that would put the 2 guys that told me what he was up to on the spot so what should I do to keep cool! TIA

It may be difficult, but you should just take it easy until your boss talks with you (if he ever does). Your boss may have a negative opinion about him and may talk with your two other people. Just take it easy and wait for your boss. The employee that complained - just kill him with kindness, but don't try to get too close with him.

Thanks DarioManfretti that is good advice. I'm not so much worried about getting in trouble as I am aggrevated by the lack of ethics people seem to have. I hate having to pretend to like someone when I am really pissed off at them. But I guess this is part of what being an adult is.

You got that right. I have never been a supervisor; however, I've been in positions where I led the area and have had to deal with this sort of stuff. If you feel secure within yourself, you shouldn't have any problems.

I've been thinking I'm almost positive my boss will dismiss anything this guy says but I would like to teach him a lesson in respect. Anybody have any ideas or do you all think I would be best to just try to ignore the whole situation and move on.

robb- what comes around goes around. I'm sure the guy will achieve nothing and probably get his own ass fired. There's a reason why the other 2 followed you and not him. Isn't it obvious that you're the man for the job? Think karma... I'm sure the guy will do it to himself one day... and pat yourself on the back for not blowing up...

edit..bikini too small, and not needed either

don't worry about him. the majority of the people you supervise support you and they show it by telling you about what he did. If I were you I'd take that as a compliment and bring in some doughnuts or something for them. I think your boss will see that 1 guy, not 2 or 3 are complaining and take that into account if he's a good boss too.

Thanks for the support. I have been dealing w/ 2faced people were I work for the last 6 years and I have been getting by by telling myself karma will get them etc. I think my resistance and patience is just wearing thin. The complaining is usually not directed at me but it is still wearing to hear it all the time. I think I am just burnt out.
