Default I need a Miata

I am looking for an old Miata with bad motor, bad top, bad interior, bad tires,...
I just want it cheap since I would be replacing all that stuff anyway.
But I would like it with a straight tub but not a must.
I am willing to travel.

You might want to ask on the Miataforum. http://www.miataforum.com

you might want to ask Karl at http://www.performancedrivers.com/ and see what he can find. He races spec Miatas - which it sounds like you are wanting to do as well from your requirements.

you are obviously into the race mode with this car?

I saw the ginetta g20 is a miata drivetrain with about 1300lbs of mass... not a bad ratio!!

I've noticed some old Miatas in driveways that have not moved in a few years (holes in top, no rear window etc.). If you feel like making a drive to the Lake Worth vicinity I remember one parked on Cahoba Dr. (Just happens to be the best twisty drive in Tarrant County) There were some in wrecking yards off Hwy 199 a while back. I'll keep my eyes peeled, they still catch my attention since I owned a few of them.

Thanks guys for the help.
I was gone over the weekend and Monday on a mini vacation.

Stefan, that sounds like what I am looking for. If I am not working this weekend
maybe I can drive up to Lake Worth.

Schatten, Yes Spec Miata is where I am thinking of running now that they have
announced Pro Spec Miata. Sounds like a cheap way to go racing. If there is such
a thing.

"Cheap racing" is kinda like saying "healthy thermonuclear explosion." I'm glad to hear you've picked a venue - and some of those Miatas I've seen are fast.
