The median is the value for which 50% of the observations are less than the median and 50% are greater than the median.
The mean IQ is 100--by definition: IQ = mental age / chronological age.
The distribution of IQ scores is (roughly) Gaussian or normal; because the normal distribution is symmetric about the mean, the mean and the median coincide.

My error in brain farting in this thread -- although a 200 point spread, i.e. 1.2.3.4-200 would have a median of 100 ... the middle of the set.
Regardless, I would be more interested in seeing the mode(s) of an IQ test output. I'm guessing around 120.
