Well, its new to me, its 3 years old, but has a pool and a whirl pool bath, large kitchen, etc... Its sweet. It's a pretty good starting out home for me, since I am 21. Its 3 bedroom and I have 2 roommates, 1389 sq ft. I have most of the furniture in place, mostly unpacking and moving boxes full of crap I didn't know I had My grandmother passed away a year ago and she had several boxes of home decoration stuff (porcelan figurines, candy bowls, vases, etc) that I put around the fireplace, coffee table, etc. We have the TV and stereo system in the family room, but no TV stand yet. Its on a cherry finished end table.

You think that's bad, try selling a house!

You fix it up so it's perfect, then clean it so it's spotless, and then every weekend, complete strangers traipse through your house for hours. You finally get a buyer (fortunately, not too hard in this market!) and then the haggling starts.

Once that's all out of the way, the inspectors come in and find all this stuff that needs to be fixed (which for some reason, they never found when you bought the house) and then you pay a ton of money to someone to fix it (you don't have time because you have a regular job and it all has to be done by the time escrow closes).

I'm paying $1,500 to rebuild a balcony off my master bedroom because an inspector found dry rot (water damage ... in Southern California!). Talk about paying for a dead horse!
