All,

Just curious (and just maybe Honda reads this site). If you had the opportunity to trade up to a 2003 Honda S2K with a non-turbocharged V6 with 360 HP output and a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, would you do it? Cost would be 42.3K and would have everything current model has plus glass rear window, 17" wheels, hardtop.

Not like it's going to happen anytime soon, but even if it did it certainly wouldn't be as cheap as 42K...and an inline-6 would be more appropriate.

For the S2k body/chassis a 60 degree V6 would be better. Why? Powertrain Bending and higher redline due to the shorter [and thus stiffer] crankshaft. 2.3 to 2.5 liters would make it pretty phenomenal and keep a good measure of it's balance. While they're at it [assuming they are considering this] they should STRONGLY consider adding much-needed FEEL to the steering and also consider taming the on-limit chassis behavior a bit. I don't think it needs a V6, but it would be nice.

Vtec is great but do you think they can get 360 hp out of 2.3 litres? I don't think so. Would I trade? probably not. My car and I have a love affair that I don't think will ever fade. Supplement down the road, for sure as finances grow but I'm kinda fond of the original

In one word, YES. Don't miss understand, the Stook is a beautiful car, fast, well engineered and built, a monster in the Vtec zone and I enjoy driving it very much. I bought it over a corvette, and I owned Porsche before (74 911RSR). However, it is disappointing to me having to Vtec the motor if I want to beat cars like a BMW750 sedan off the line...if $15K - $20K extra will do it, where can I put the deposit?

In one word, NO! The S2000 is brilliant the way it is, and the engine is one of the best parts of it.
